…Being back here. In paradise. Listening to the slight breeze in between the palm trees, with the sounds of the ocean washing up upon the shore in the distance. As much much as there was a “noise” there was a blissful silence in the air. To go with Mother Earth’s whisper, her…[Continue Reading]
When it’s June and still cold…
…If I’m honest, I don’t really know what else to say. Its ridiculous yet we have to deal with it, so I won’t rant on and on about “The Great British Weather”. To brighten up my cold and miserable grey days, I quite literally appear brighter. In a Zara favourite and classic Kenzo (jumper),this is my current situation; until further notice from the weathuer man. I love my orange coat, I do, and even though it’s most definitely a winter coat; it’s perfect for these winter-like, so called “summer” months! #OrangeIsTheNewBlack.
Its been a little while but the journey of the ‘view from the top‘ continues.
So the snap shots might not be as exotic as they have been, but I’ve got to say, i am rather surprised with this weather. Its actually been some what decent. Maybe its because I’m not used to spending my entire summer in the UK, but I never actually thought I could have my legs out 5 days in a row. Its kind of bittersweet; Im impressed with the “typical British weather” but I’d still rather be else where-sippping on a cocktail in my bikini without a worry in the world.

As London fashion week approaches; everyone who is important, once was important and perhaps wants to be important; picks out the specifics for the weeks’s events. From handbag selection, arrays of accessories, the daily “look”, and trends intending to follow or set to entire outfits and back up outfits for fear of being upstaged. Yes, being upstaged is considered valid grounds for changing an outfit, reevaluating it and changing it again; especially if you are one of the less important people seeking a title, or just a female with the prerogative to change your mind 5 times a day.
Howeverrrr…Lets not forget due to London’s recent display of “typical British weather”; reconsideration may be down to one other thing. Rain. With worries of ruining an item of clothing, pair of shoes or god forbid an entire outfit; by getting it wet or worse shoving a rain mac over it; why risk it?
Wait for a better day, or at least a day with minimal possibility of rain. I mean why risk losing the red soles of your Louboutins to wet pavements or having to walk around with soggy fur all day, or horribly damp and uncomfortable jeans; with a day that claims to be a 60-percent-chance-of-rain-kind-of-day, knowing tomorrow is a rain-free day. So it may be ten degrees colder but the term “no pain, no gain” in reference to fashion, does not mean go flaunt your stuff even if it is pouring with rain, but to “grin and bare it” for fashion’s sake. When your teeth are chattering, your arms have goose bumps and your nipples are starting to show; all the while, wondering why you never wore a jacket and wishing you had tights in your bag; you might not be so disheartened given that your lack of sensible clothing makes up in character and compliments. Lots of compliments, because let’s face it; who at fashion week was ever remembered for the way they done up their coat buttons, wore a wooly hat and covered up every inch of their body?
My Little White Dress
Its been a while…but I’m back…
After all my travels and adventures across the globe in Thailand (plus a cheeky 3 days in Malaysia), I am back. Back home to the UK and now (as of yesterday) having graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class degree, I am actually home. back in London. For good! (well until next time!)
So its back on. Back to exploring and being a tourist in my own city. Last summer brought the Olympics, sporty fashion, arty mascotts around London, thousands of tourists and their individual dress sense and lets not forget; my favourite; all those funky charity telephone boxes-also plotted around the capital.
Already the weather seems to be better than last “summer”, so lets pray it stays and brings a lot more fashion, craziness and fun. Bring on Summer 2013 I say!
Whilst Thailand proved to have its ups and downs it was without a doubt Aaaa-mazzzing!
So watch this space for more “f word” posts and finally back to my regualr updates!
