Next March the V&A museum will be showcasing a World McQueen exhibition. Like so many out there, I couldn’t be more excited.
For 4 months, the exhibit will be Europe’s first and largest retrospective of McQueens work. From his MA graduate collection, to his unfinished AW collection in 2010 (-including his work as chief designer at Givenchy); the showcase will represent the late British designer’s originality and creative flare. With plenty of sparkle, extravagant designs and unique structures; the exhibition is going to be one to remember.
The above piece, is a dress made entirely from Swarovski crystals-how exciting!
Bring on March 2015!
For the autumn/ winter season, gold comes back around to add a bit of shimmer, splash of sparkle and sense of royalty to the runway.
Whilst the week is not over yet, so far New York Fashion Week has seen the ‘black and gold’ duo grace us with its presence once again; with elegant patterns, delicate embroidery and lace combinations by Carmen Marc Valvo and Venexiana. In contrast, Lela Rose’s designs take on the lighter and brighter golden look; one overlaid with a black polka-dot sheer crop top and another in a slightly more summery approach with a knee-length, off the shoulder foil print floral dress.
Also sticking to the knee-length number, Rebecca Vallance show cases a more casual look, with her textured tee-skater style gold dress. Dennis Basso also keeps his A/W collection rather textured with several fur combos; one to which was placed with the fine gold detailing on a stripped sheer dress. Opposite to Basso’s use of minimal gold the runway, Venexiana (as well as the black and gold masterpiece); goes elaborate with gold, by showing off completely gold, floor-length gowns. Silk, sheer and sequins; and in gold; it couldn’t be better.

Whilst the life of a broke student means i can't buy much until next pay days (with 3 this month), who said I'm not allowed to look. And a cheeky "try on" never hurt anybody! Well that is a lie, trying clothes on, that I can't afford yet hurts me to leave them behind. On the upside, after having no intention of ever buying this dress (because I never thought blue was really my colour), I loved the sparkles too much, to not give it a chance. And for £130 who wouldn't love it!

So over the Christmas/ New years holiday, I went to the “Ball Gowns, British Glamour since 1950s” Exhibition at the V&A, but have not had time to upload anything until now due to the exams that took over my life.
“From debutantes and royalty to charity balls and red carpets, this exhibition highlighted the styles, silhouettes and colours that have been perennial favourites for many years…

The center dress above was worn by Beyonce during Obama’s first inauguration back in 2009, and i love it. It is sexy yet still very sophisticated, classy and ooh so glamourous!
Ive been waiting for you
Finally mines! -Rose Gold Michael Kors Watch.
The saying “if its meant to be, it will be” couldn’t be more right. Ever since, I don’t know how long (probably because i didn’t have a watch to tell the time- lmao), I’ve been waiting for my watch. I mean how long is a girl supposed to wait for such a beauty, that is a Michael Kors; and its rose gold.Nevertheless I am forever grateful (thanks milz) and thank God for having such fantastic friends; who just so happen to have perks at work.
From treating myself over summer, to what could have been a 21st birthday present to myself, or maybe even a belated one, ended up as a “to me, from me” Christmas pressy. And I love it. Although I may have waited a while, it was all worth it. I’m working on being a patient girl because evidently, “Good things come to those who wait!”
At the very start I decided i wanted a Marc Jacobs watch and set my heart on a rose gold one, then as collections came and went, I fell for the Michael Kors. Admittedly I was never keen on the Kors watches, because everybody had one and im just not that kind of girl. But then my Marc never showed again and the new Michael Kors collection graced us with its presence, so i went for it. Before i missed the opportunity again. Even though it may be common brand, this particular one is mine. And its perfect; the watch face it small enough, there are a few numbers so i don’t get too confused (hehe), its pretty, its glamorous, its rose gold and last but not least, it has just the right amount of ‘bling’ to be fabulous and not too over done. What do you think?
MK or Mj? what would you have chosen?

No matter the fashion season, occasion or the time of year you can not go wrong with a classic LBD. Thus, in the wise words of Karl Lagerfeld “One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress.”
So as 2012 came to an end and we entered 2013, i slipped my Louboutins on, for the second time and kept it simple in my LBD, yet with just enough sparkle, fit for the occasion, in Zara’s finest.
on the other hand…
