Whether it be as oh so fabulous Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the city or simply herself, SJP is often the “Belle of the Ball”. Quite literally this time too, as she takes the red carpet at the New York Ballet Fall Gala. Wearing a glamorous glittery Zuhair Murad gown, Parker was most definetly Cinderella-esque last night.

The smokey grey ballgown took on a sweet-heart neckline, 3-quarter length sleeves, a dramatic train (to which flared from her waist) and an elegant front slit. Overlaid with sheer and plenty of sparkly embellishments; SJP looked stunning and certainly dazzled the crowds in her Zuhair Murad original!

When its time to invest in some Manolos, this is where I’ll start!

Where shoes are concerned, I love love love suede. Also, the structure is cool and quirky yet simple and elegant at the same time- right up my street! The red colour pop is fabulous too. All in all, these will be the perfect addition to my designer shoe collection! #WishList

Admittedly, as much as I love designer shoes, Manolo Blahniks were never my first choice. However, having watched Carrie Bradshaw and shoe obsession (Manolo Blahniks in particular) for years; I have slowly yet surely been convinced. Thus, several re-runs of Sex and the City later; I decided I wanted a pair and now I’ve found that pair, so WILL eventually invest! And hey, as a fashion enthusiast, its only right to own such. So whether they’re a staple or statement, classic or seasonal; a pair of Manolo Blahniks (heels of course!) are a wardrobe must. #WatchThisSpace

To the city that brought us fabulous fashion and Carrie Bradshaw; the runway at New York Fashion Week certainly resembled the wardrobes of the Sex and the City cast.

From left to right; Ralph Lauren’s sporty yet glamorous look reminds me of a Samantha Jones outfit. Next and all in blue is a representation of Miranda Hobbes’s corporate-casual look in an Elizabeth and James suit. Following is a classy and some what conservative model wearing Narciso Rodriguez and looking very Charlotte York. Last but not least, is my favourite; Oscar De La Renta’s SS15 collection. His extravagant yet elegant silhouettes reminds me of a Carrie Bradshaw ensemble.

Love it

Pic of the day!

Yes. Thats right, its a few of our favourite Disney princesses in high fashion. Fresh off the runway and looking absolutely fabulous.

From left to right we have; Jasmine in SS14 Alexander Wang, followed by Mulan in the creme de la creme, that is Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, next is Pocahontas in a saucy number by Givenchy and last but not least, is Ariel going for the classic look, in Saint Laurent.

Personally, I think this sketch is amazing. I love it. Who would have thought characters from our childhood could be fashion icons today. Forget Carrie Bradshaw, its about to get Sex and the City, fairytale style!

FIT, NYC

On a recent trip to the Big Apple, I realised how much I love that city and now all i want to do is go back. If not for the shopping, fabulous fashion and glamorous lifestyle then take me back to the buzz in Time Square, Brooklyn’s finest restaurants, the unique finds of Soho, and the city’s character through, art and culture! This trip also hit a harsh reality; discovering all the Beautiful bags and shoes I yearn for but can not afford YET! Admittedly watching the ‘Sex and the City’ box set is not helping, nor is the constant flicking through my photos; But hey, whats a girl to do, but dream?

Anyways here is a well overdue, overview of Seventh Ave’s “Shoe Obsession” exhibition at New York City’s Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). If I can’t have fabulous footwear (Minus my Louboutins), then I’ll just look!

So we were not exactly allowed to take photos, but i got a couple of sneaky pics 🙂

“Shoe Obsession is not a new phenomenon. But over the past decade, extraordinary designer shoes with extremely high heels have become increasingly central to fashion. Why are we so obsessed with shoes? and why are shoes so important now?”

Regardless of which Hemisphere you’re in, fashionistas all over the world are constantly on the hunt for the best deals.

I recently caught up with my fellow fashion blogger; Joshua Schaberg founder of “Metallic Dapper” (you really ought to check out his blog and follow here) to discuss our shopping habits and the million dollar topic; In-store Vs. Online?

Whether you’re a vintage market huntsman, a department shopaholic or an online junkie, here are some of our thoughts on the pro’s and con’s of each:

online

Does Online do it for you?

instore

Do you prefer In-store too?

Whilst the Internet is fantastic and the fact that its 24-7-365 is amazing, when it comes to shopping for fashion, we most definitely agree and prefer shopping in-store. To really see our purchases. To touch them. To hold them and feel them!  Don’t get us wrong; We do enjoy clicking away and filling up our basket in the comfort of our own homes, but the level satisfaction just isn’t the same.

Of course there’s that moment when the doorbell rings and it’s the postman, who for those 2 minutes just so happens to be your favorite person. All because you had been waiting the entire day for that one special package, which had an ETA between 10am-4pm; and obviously it arrived bang on 3:58pm! Yes, that rush of excitement and adrenaline is fantastic, (the type that makes you fall up the stairs, just so you can open it quicker) but why put yourself through the wait, if you can feel that excitement 3-5 days earlier; minus P&P!

It is about the instant satisfaction shopping on the high street, a mall or department store brings. It’s that silly grin you have on your face when the cashier hands you your bag(s). It’s the joys of retail therapy; socializing, singing along to background music, sometimes dancing (especially if you’re Joshua), spending hours in and out of fitting rooms (indecisive as hell if your anything like me) and best of all-carrying all those glorious shopping bags!

I mean what would the world be like, if we watched Carry Bradshaw sit at home and shop online for 6 years?
