…When you become more and more in love with Mansur Gavriel.

The duo; Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel first had my attention with their bucket bags; but as of late I am obsessed with backpacks; so when I saw these, I became a true Mansur Gavriel fan. To be honest, even if I wasn’t going through a backpack phase- I’d find it hard not to be drawn to these beauties. Especially, since I love love love orange and this dusty powder pink is trending right now. Granted, there are an array of colours to select from, however the above pair couldn’t be more perfect!

The backpacks are so simply in style yet make such an impact as a fashion item. As simple as Mansur Gavriel’s designs are known to be, their inspirations from “the contrast of warm, natural textures and the clear, clean intensity of pop colors” are strongly and consistently represented; making each “simple” piece far from Plain Jane but more of a statement piece contender. Designed in New York with great attention to detail and made in Italy with the finest materials, Mansur Gavriel are really starting to stamp their mark – and I can not get enough!

Backpack envy much?!

…Oldies but goodies!

Still obsessed with orange, and as the Spring/ “Summer” season approaches, why not? Bright and colorful enough, yet also weirdly subtle enough; orange is the perfect winter warmer and summer pop (color)! And as for Celine; need I say anymore? When it comes to fashion and designer handbags, Celine is always in the equation!

So know that when it is time to purchase the infamous Celine bag, the warm color between red and yellow on the light spectrum is likely to be in the picture! Whether it is a classic Luggage, Trio or Trapeze bag, small Trotteur or Shoulder bag; in a single solid block color, duo or multicolored; my Celine handbag will feature orange!

VFTT 266 Sunnies on Deck 2.0

…Well some of it. It may have been Bali, Cambodia and briefly Malaysia last year, but this year it was time to revisit Thailand and take my first trip to China. Honestly, with weather as cold as it is in Beijing at this time of year, I never saw myself visiting China anytime soon, but as a stop over destination en route to/from Thailand, I thought why not. After choosing the longest layover time, I looked into things to do with eight hours to spare in the capital of China and lo-and-behold I found myself at one of the “New 7 Wonders of the World” – The Great Wall of China! – And The View From the Top came too! Before jumping to The Great Wall, let’s not forget the craziness yet awesomeness that is Bangkok, along with the amazing sceneries of one of Thailand’s beautiful islands; Koh Tao! The VFTT tells all…

…And it continues. The latest snaps from The View From the Top.

…Love Love Love!

So, I decided after starting with a classic pair of Louboutins, then to a stand-out, pop colour pair of Balenciagas; my next pair of designer shoes are going to be Valentino. I mean what Fashionistas’ wardrobe is complete without a pair of Valentino heels.

Naturally, I wanted a pair of the Rocketed 100 pumps or the So Noir 100 pumps (colour undecided), however after browsing the shelves I fell in love with these bad boys; The Rockee Leather Pump. Quite obviously its the fringing that caught my eyes. But it was also the discrete, yet statement-making clear plastic strap, that drew me in even further. Not to mention the close-attention to detail; with the tiny gold (classic Valentino) studs to which neatly line both the top and underside of the buckle; that I love- this definitely completes the luxury Italian Leather shoe!

In classic black, I wonder if these gorgeous Valentino pumps will even go on sale or just have me breaking the bank! Its all just a waiting game now; will they or won’t they? #SummerSale

I’m sure I can speak for most women when i say; Bags (& Shoes). Yes thats it. There isn’t anymore to say, simply because there is too much to say. However as the Fashion Week season is upon us and NYFW draws to an end, I can say an extra few words (well, two more) to highlight one of my favourite designs of the week; Mansur Gavriel!

The bucket bags are back and I can not get enough of them. Designers, Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel have made everybody and their friends want one of their amazing bags. The New York based brand was founded by these two ladies in April 2012 and now almost three years on, the Italian crafted bags have well and truly entered the fashion world. With growing attention and exposure, the brand is flourishing nicely. Whilst AW15 will see two new styles (along side the existing collection that includes; totes, backpacks and bucket bags) as well as new colours, for me its all the bucket bag. The design is simple and the structure that reflects the shape of a bucket adds a certain depth to the bag. The fact each bag is colour blocked also contributes to the luxury aspect of the street-style kind of bag. Naturally and like most, you can not go wrong with classic black, however I also really like the brandy colour and next season’s sand one too. So watch this space! #WishList

With 10 days before Christmas, I couldn’t be more sure about what I would like from Santa this year. I mean look at it. Do you not just love it?

This Stella McCartney Falabella mini faux brushed-leather backpack is a “must have” this season. Designed in reflection in the original Falabella handbags, this luxury mini backpack is adorable. So compact, its perfect for decreasing the load and carrying less junk (that we all end up carrying, simply because we have the space to). Plus if you’re thinking about changing up you bag game; from handbag to backpack; this delicate design could not be more ideal for making the transition. Its not too small and definitely not too big. Furthermore, the slight shine from the soft faux brushed-leather makes the bag unique and stand out from your typical black leather backpacks. The iconic Stella McCartney whipstiched chains also make this bag more of a subtle statement piece and far more eye catching than any other little black backpack out there.   #lovelovelove

Forget Cyber Monday, as far as i’m concerned its Blue Monday. It might be the 1st of December and the Monday after Thanksgiving blah blah blah… But when you are faced with a b-e-a-utiful blue leather Celine Luggage bag, its defiantly Blue Monday. Considering, I do not yet own this beauty, the word (and mood) ‘blue’ fits in better with my Monday. Furthermore, with the Friday just gone being referred to as “Black Friday” it is only right that the following days are named with a colour. So here’s to your something blue; Happy Monday!

I know I haven’t posted anything Chanel related in a while, so this is certainly well overdue, yet I still do not know what to say. I quite literally am speechless. Truth be told, all I want to do is put up a row (or five) of the smiley faces with the red love heart eyes, since I’m pretty sure that’s what my eyes did-still doing in fact. This Chanel Boy bag is B-E-A-UTIFUL! There’s nothing else to it, it’s perfect. There’s no “I like it, but…” Or ” yeah, if…” to it, it just is. I like everything about it; the colour, size, style, detailing, material, even the box it comes in; I love it.

If perfection was a handbag, this finely crafted Chanel black leather Boy bag, would definitely be it. I can not fault Mr. Lagerfeld at all. For me, It’s the brocade style detailing that I adore the most; it gives the bag so much more depth, making it more visually appealing and unique. Why go for the traditional plain black or quilted classic in the Boy, when you can have this? The raised brocade texture without a doubt completes this luxury fashion accessory; representing Chanel at its finest!

Within an hour of crossing the Brazilian boarder into Argentina; not even checked in yet and just about got some of the national currency; we came across these authentic buys.

These finely crafted handmade leather luxuries are far from the fast fashion culture back home. Yes, some bags can last a life time, especially those well made (and well looked after)- usually labelled kind of bags. But when such love and precision is put into making these unique bags; where no two are the same; and made by the very person selling them, they deserved to be kept forever.

As soon as you step over the threshold to browse the independent little store, you can smell the (real) leather in the air. Personally, I’ve never really been a fan of that smell or these particular type of leather bag, but I know a good purchase when I see one. The fine detail and fragility of each design is what gets one spotted and snapped for ‘street fashion’ purposes. They are different from each other, never mind every other bag out there. Not sold in bulk or mass made, they are defiantly a statement piece. As “alternative” as they are, when caught hanging on ones shoulder, it will more likely “make” and outfit, than it will “break” it. Still, as much as I adore them, admire the craftsmanship and am intrigued by there delicate designs, they are not me. Mainly because I just don’t think I could pull it off.

On the other hand, they are so cheap. Stepping over the boarder, anything and everything is cheaper here than in Brazil, but for what they are, how genuine they are, the love put into them and how much they would probably sell for at home; they are cheap! The type of merchandise sold “down the Bella” or a quirky little stall in Spitalfeilds market. I could make a killing with that profit margin, I could be one of those cheeky salesmen not budging on the price even though I know I bought it for less than half of its retail label. However, let’s just call that “plan B “. For now I’m enjoying the freedom and exploring the world (well South America that is) and plus I’m not even half way through my “Eat. Pray. Love” journey, so who knows what else I’ll embark on and what business ventures are yet to evolve.
