Ok, so not quite golden, but yellow is close enough right?! Although, its never my first port of call in a gown, these ladies made it work (yellow that is) and equally looked stunning at last night’s 74th Golden Globe awards; as they graciously strutted down the red carpet, before stopping to smile and pose!

From the top left, clockwise; Natalie Portman wears a deep pastel yellow, almost-mustard floor length (three-quarter) sleeved gown, by Prada. Her look was very simple, elegant and I want to say; quite medieval!

Next, is the stunning Scandal star, Ms Kerry Washington. Personally, I do not favour this dress. However, Washington (who just had her second baby a few months ago) looked absolutely radiant down the red carpet in a Dolce & Gabbana dress. The see-through pale-golden yellow midi floral dress, was finished with angel wing-like shoulder cuffs and what looks like a broach embellished side belt (thing).Granted, its different and not really my cup of tea per se, but Kerry never fails to impress and (as I said) made it work!

In the bottom right hand corner; Hollywood walk of fame’s latest star; Viola Davis, wore the brightest yellow of them all and blissfully smiled for the camera (and later glided to the stage) in Michael Kors. The classic Greek style, floor length, one-shoulder gown, was a tasteful and subtle approach to “glitz & glam”.

Last but not least, my favourite (dress not person); Reese Witherspoon; in a pastel yellow Atelier Versace gown! Although its quite Prom-come-bridesmaid, I really like this dress. The classy length together with the saucy side slit, and the modern take to the classic sweetheart neckline; gives off a sexy sophisticated look; and completed with some simple jewellery, its picture perfect!

It turns out yellow isn’t so bad after all and hey, for the Golden Globes, its pretty appropriate wouldn’t you say?!

When they talk about fashion and being alternative they mean the David Bowies, Lady Gagas, Susie Bubbles and Jeremy Scotts but when they talk about food and being alternative this is what they mean…

…And if they remade Breakfast at Tiffany’s I’m sure this multicoloured bagel would make its Hollywood debut!

Admittedly, these bagels looked rather odd at a first glance; (just like alternative fashion) for the obvious reasons of confusion (also like alternative fashion), but with that second (or fifth) look, it really is something spectacular! Its hard to tell what the baker (and fashion designer alike) was going for. Is it sweet or is it savoury? (is it cool and quirky?) Is it flavoured and artificial? Full of E numbers or super foods? (Statement making, attention seeking, or just out right fashionable and trendy?) And the underlining question; how? How did they do it? Just, how? Quite literally; “food for thought” -wouldn’t you say? (The same goes for fashion and how certain looks get pulled off? Especially the weird and “alternative” ones?)

But back to bagels, I still do not have an answer to that questions, however I can tell you that all the colourful swirls aside, it tasted like a regular plain bagel. No added flavours (to which I was happy about) and no confusion of taste nor an imprint of colour(s) left on my tongue. So all in all a pretty amazing bagel, considering it looked super cool! Far from your average bagel yet it tasted exactly like your average bagel-its a win, win! This is where my inner nerd meets my inner fatty- I mean foodie! And I love it! I mean how can you go wrong when food looks and tastes so good! (At a second glance, that is!)  #FoodPorn

Its the award ceremony season; after the Golden Globes, SAG awards and the BAFTA nominations; its time for the stars of the music industry to make their impression on the red carpet. Entertaining a tough crowd and hosting an eventful weekend, Beverly Hills saw yet another wave of celebrities dressed to impress.

Clive Davis’s annual pre-Grammy gala saw Miley Cyrus in a different light; a-fully-clothed-even-had-a-big-fur-coat-on-kinda-light. Ri Ri went for the less clothed look; showing off a lot of chest and leg; nevertheless she did look fabulous. Taylor Swift looked ooh so glamourous in her sparkly LBD. Jennifer Hudson never fails to amaze us; also in a little black dress-one to which showed off her curves and added quirky pop of colour. As always, Pharrell looked mighty dapper walking along side his new wife and so did John Legend and his lady. However, the couple that did it for me was our favourite man, Robin Thicke and his gorgeous wife, Paula Patton-they looked absolutely stunning and even better together.

A person favourite of mines from last night's events; Zooey Deschanel. The New Girl star looked aaa-mazingd in a vintage-looking Oscar de la Renta that featured a boxy bejewelled crop top and sequin tulle asymmetrical skirt that fell to her ankles; revealing her matching pearl shoes. Love it. Love it. Love it!

Last night’s 71st Golden Globes award ceremony saw an array of glamorous and ooh so fabulous high fashion. From Armani Prive, Ralph Lauren, Prabal Gurung and Carolina Herrera to Oscar De La Rental, Tom Ford and Christian Dior; actors and actresses stepped foot on to the red carpet in nothing but the best. It goes without saying that there were individuals who were really working it and looked quite literally, a million dollars (well almost) nevertheless, there were others who just would not be considered for the “best dressed” title.

One the thing that always raises a question for me, is whether or not wearing red on the red carpet really works. Most of the time the women on Hollywood look fabulous, but stood still for those few minutes to pose for the cameras on the red carpet (wearing a long red gown), always seems to clash (to me); it’s just too much for the eye. Sometimes I can’t even tell where the dress finishes. With this said, Emma Watson did it for me this year. Going for sexy sophisticated, she looked amazing in her (nearly) completely backless red Dior dress.

But what does every body else think? Does it work? Red on the red carpet?
