**When they ask if you do DIY around the house!**
When it comes to high fashion, as much as it can be very classic and couture, it can also be very alternative to say the least. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t walk down the street with a toolbox, but a Chanel toolbox inspired bag; why not! Its different thats for sure and being rather simple yet bold, it certainly is a statement piece, I’d like to rock!
#DIY Fashion at its Finest!
When fashion is inspired by art and art is inspired by fashion; its just one big cycle; and it will continue to go around, then come back round again!
A contributor to the De Stijl art movement, Piet Mondrian was (and still is today), known for his abstract compositions of primary colours (red, blue and yellow) in a black grid of vertical and horizontal lines, against a white background; Mondrian !
His classic compositions were also used as backdrops in the fashion industry, before taking the catwalk in 1965 in the form of an A-line shift dress by Yves Saint Laurent. This iconic “Mondrian dress” was debuted in the Autumn/Winter ’65 season in both a jersey and wool knee length style shift dress.
Since then, similar dresses and other garments alike have been re-inspired and reproduced. Some taking the runway like the infamous YSL piece and others straight to high-street stores or street fashion.
…I love, love, love, this Chanel quilted lambskin backpack in classic black. These days I’ve been obsessed with backpacks and this Chanel checks all the boxes. Granted, it is a little on the large side, but I’m not complaining- I mean how can you not love it?!
The perfect combination of streetwear and high fashion, this is not your average drawstring bag; this is where sportswear meets fashion and I cannot get enough!
The lambskin leather backpack is designed in reflection of your traditional drawstring bag, featuring a quilted leather flap, finished with Chanel’s signature CC closure clasp and classic gold chain straps. There are also two open pockets on the back and the inside is lined with black fabric! I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again; how can you not love it?
…Oldies but goodies!
Still obsessed with orange, and as the Spring/ “Summer” season approaches, why not? Bright and colorful enough, yet also weirdly subtle enough; orange is the perfect winter warmer and summer pop (color)! And as for Celine; need I say anymore? When it comes to fashion and designer handbags, Celine is always in the equation!
So know that when it is time to purchase the infamous Celine bag, the warm color between red and yellow on the light spectrum is likely to be in the picture! Whether it is a classic Luggage, Trio or Trapeze bag, small Trotteur or Shoulder bag; in a single solid block color, duo or multicolored; my Celine handbag will feature orange!
…When fashion trumps “love” life!
From must-have shoes to aspirational designer handbags and to die for catwalk collections; can fashion trump Feb 14th?
After all, they say it’s a made up holiday to once again, profit from society on a concept that “should” be about more than just a day, so who needs a Valentines, when you can have Valentino eh?!
I know, I know all the hopeless romantics would argue otherwise; but in or out of a relationship; it really is just another day…A day that’s all the more exciting with shoes you saved up to buy and a handbag you’ve had your eye on for months! #JustSaying
I think we can all agree that Jennifer Lopez looked amazing last night at this year’s Golden Globes. I wouldn’t naturally consider yellow for an evening gown, however Jlo certainly proved me wrong, as she pulled it off!
Wearing a caped Giambattista Valli haute couture gown and 200 carats of diamonds in accessories, Lopez looked absolutely stunning. As well as her choice of wardrobe, Jlo’s hair and makeup was on point; simple, elegant and drop-dead-gorgeous!
Still in love with these looks from Emilio Pucci’s RTW SS13 collection.
Inspired by Asian fusion; Vietnam in particular; Pucci played around a lot with transparencies, to complete this gorgeous collection.
