Christian Louboutins are back in nude and in every shade! From flat ballerina pumps, to stilettos, T-bar heels, sophisticated court shoes pointed and peep toes; Louboutin have a shoe for every woman and better yet, they all come in an array of “skin tone” shades! So with summer around the corner (I use the term “summer” loosely in the UK), you can go nude all over- well almost!

When the hot and sexy, yet oh so sophisticated Louboutins you want, don’t just have a “Red Bottom” but are red all over! – Plus, there’s a stunning studded shoulder bag to match!
[see what i did there?!]

Red Christian Louboutins would never have been my first choice, however these red Anjalina stilettos lightly embellished with gold studs, are gorgeous! Personally, I’m not big on the studs trend, but the few used here (rather than in excess, as typically fashioned) work to this particular shoe’s advantage. Its as if each stud was well thought through in regards to positioning and delicately placed on the beautiful red leather- and I love it! This is definitely the kind of style i’d go for, when it comes to a red studded heel! #WishList

FullSizeRender-3…These Nike Huaraches are aaa-mazzz-iiinng! I never thought I’d be so pro trainers but these days I’m opting for the comfort of a good pair of kicks on a night out, rather than arch aching killer heels. Do not get me wrong, I will forever be obsessed with fabulous shoes; especially when it comes to a pair of designer heels that I’ve been eyeing up for months, while I save/ spontenous splurge; however you simple can not go wrong with practicality and comfy reliable footware. Plus, these particular trainers are gorgeous! Yes I said it! They are amazing; the colour, suede mix, style, petite little size…you name it; the perfect pair of Huaraches! #WishList

When its time to invest in some Manolos, this is where I’ll start!

Where shoes are concerned, I love love love suede. Also, the structure is cool and quirky yet simple and elegant at the same time- right up my street! The red colour pop is fabulous too. All in all, these will be the perfect addition to my designer shoe collection! #WishList

Admittedly, as much as I love designer shoes, Manolo Blahniks were never my first choice. However, having watched Carrie Bradshaw and shoe obsession (Manolo Blahniks in particular) for years; I have slowly yet surely been convinced. Thus, several re-runs of Sex and the City later; I decided I wanted a pair and now I’ve found that pair, so WILL eventually invest! And hey, as a fashion enthusiast, its only right to own such. So whether they’re a staple or statement, classic or seasonal; a pair of Manolo Blahniks (heels of course!) are a wardrobe must. #WatchThisSpace

Admittedly, I am a lover of all things Minion and naturally; as a fashion enthusiast; i’m obsessed with shoes. Particularly those with a heel and designer label-guilty. However, ironically these Rupert Sanderson Limited edition, Minion inspired court shoes, are not doing it for me. Yes, they are quirky and cool, just not the statement piece for me. I’m all for a good statement piece, and whilst that may consist of a colour pop and the weird and wonderful; I reckon these are just a step too far for me.

With that said, if money was not object and I had a few trendy/edgy places to go to, I could make it work. I can see them being pulled off, with either a black or white knee length shift dress, or an equally mono-chrome ensemble of skinny jeans, a crop top and long sleeveless blazer. Having just visualised the above, i’m kind of, sort of, maybe changing my mind about these bazaar shoes! With the right outfit and of course the right place to go; they’re not half bad. #MinionNation.

…Love Love Love!

So, I decided after starting with a classic pair of Louboutins, then to a stand-out, pop colour pair of Balenciagas; my next pair of designer shoes are going to be Valentino. I mean what Fashionistas’ wardrobe is complete without a pair of Valentino heels.

Naturally, I wanted a pair of the Rocketed 100 pumps or the So Noir 100 pumps (colour undecided), however after browsing the shelves I fell in love with these bad boys; The Rockee Leather Pump. Quite obviously its the fringing that caught my eyes. But it was also the discrete, yet statement-making clear plastic strap, that drew me in even further. Not to mention the close-attention to detail; with the tiny gold (classic Valentino) studs to which neatly line both the top and underside of the buckle; that I love- this definitely completes the luxury Italian Leather shoe!

In classic black, I wonder if these gorgeous Valentino pumps will even go on sale or just have me breaking the bank! Its all just a waiting game now; will they or won’t they? #SummerSale

…Dolce and Gabbana are quite literally opening doors in the fashion world this season, through footwear and what I can only assume was inspired by art. This black Dolce & Gabbana pump features a T-bar black jacquard body with a captivating hinged heel which opens to reveal a sacred heart adorned with pearls and beading [Moda Operandi]. They certainly are an interesting pair of shoes. They look like they were designed in reflection of a fairytale or some sort of fantasy, nevertheless for that unique and quirky statement piece this Spring, they definitely do justice. So heres to the weird and wonderful heel, brought to us this SS15 by a pair of Italy’s finest; D&G!

ICB

ICB

Amongst those trending across the runway at New York Fashion Week is the pencil cut skirt with a split. Remaining at a respectable hight, the split works. Going for the chic casual look, AW15/16 ready-to-wear is defiantly something I can get on board with. Naturally, I love the orange skirt by ICB (guilty); not only because obviously its orange but the off-centre split is much more appealing, plus the mini skirt under layer, come-lining adds a certain depth to the skirt as a whole. Worn by the model quite casually, the structured skirt can also be dressed up with a change in top, shoes and accessories. #Love

Tibi and CC Chris Gelinas also went with the more casual look compare to both Altuzarra and Brandon Sun who went for slightly dressier alternatives. For me, Tibi’s cream/nude emsemble was a close second contender after ICB. Pairing the off-white leather skirt with a cream wooly jumper is definitely a look I can’t wait to see hit the streets come AW 15/16. The thick collar that borders on ‘polo neck’ is what stands out most for me. The Gelinas skirt in light khaki is also favourable. Its a slightly less fitted cut compare to the others nevertheless, it works. Personally, I wouldn’t have paired it with those socks or shoes and perhaps a cream blouse instead; but simply as a pencil skirt with a split; I like it. The latter however, I can not say the same for.  To me, the styling behind both the Brandon Sun and Altuzarra designs could have been executed better.

The long awaited red carpet moment at the 72nd Golden Globe awards and this is what happened…

As 3 of my favourites, this is extremely disappointing. Left to Right; Bridesmaid‘s Melissa McCarthy wears a completely original and somewhat hideous ensemble made with items from her wardrobe, sewn together. Homemade is all good and well, but when it looks like that, its most definitely is a no go! Don’t get me wrong, the top isn’t half bad but the way in which it has been attached to that awful frilly skirt completely ruins the outfit. Minus the frills and maybe an A-line instead, the hilarious and loveable actress could have made “homemade” work on the red carpet.

In the middle, is Kerry Washington. Known for her dominant role as Olivia Pope on Scandal, Washington is more often than not, dressed very chic, classy and some would say conservative; both on and off set; so what happened here? Typically in the spot light at these events for her sense of style, amazing outfits and fashion forward appearance, Kerry Washington’s stylist made a major error on Sunday night. Wearing an off the shoulders Mary Katrantzou dress, Miss Washington looks extremely stiff, almost awkward and certainly out of place (compared to her usual “stunning-ness”) at this year’s Golden Globes.

Finally, on the right is Orange is the New Black‘s Taryn Manning. Looking completely different to her character, Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett  from Netflix‘s favourite; OITNB, Manning destroys this Oscar De La Renta gown. As an all time admirer of the late, De La Renta’s work and avid OITNB fan, seeing this actually upsets me. The dress just does not go with her body shape-it does nothing for her (not without alterations anyway). Furthermore, she could have worn some different shoes; perhaps a colour pop and/or a stand-out clutch to at least try and make what should be a fabulous dress, work! What’s worse is that she has the cheek to wear peep-toe shoes and not even paint her toes; its common knowledge; if your not going to dress them up, cover them up! Just saying.

So all in all; a loveable and personal favourite actress of mines, Melissa McCarthy, proved not to be so funny. As a Scandal obsessed fan and lover of all things Kerry Washington, i’m disappointed in her recent stunt and last but not least (well maybe), another representation of a TV show favourite (OITNB) has failed to impress off screen and made an Oscar De La Renta look bad. #SayNoToTheDress

FIT, NYC

FIT, NYC

On a recent trip to the Big Apple, I realised how much I love that city and now all i want to do is go back. If not for the shopping, fabulous fashion and glamorous lifestyle then take me back to the buzz in Time Square, Brooklyn’s finest restaurants, the unique finds of Soho, and the city’s character through, art and culture! This trip also hit a harsh reality; discovering all the Beautiful bags and shoes I yearn for but can not afford YET! Admittedly watching the ‘Sex and the City’ box set is not helping, nor is the constant flicking through my photos; But hey, whats a girl to do, but dream?

Anyways here is a well overdue, overview of Seventh Ave’s “Shoe Obsession” exhibition at New York City’s Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). If I can’t have fabulous footwear (Minus my Louboutins), then I’ll just look!

So we were not exactly allowed to take photos, but i got a couple of sneaky pics 🙂

“Shoe Obsession is not a new phenomenon. But over the past decade, extraordinary designer shoes with extremely high heels have become increasingly central to fashion. Why are we so obsessed with shoes? and why are shoes so important now?”
