Whether it be as oh so fabulous Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the city or simply herself, SJP is often the “Belle of the Ball”. Quite literally this time too, as she takes the red carpet at the New York Ballet Fall Gala. Wearing a glamorous glittery Zuhair Murad gown, Parker was most definetly Cinderella-esque last night.

The smokey grey ballgown took on a sweet-heart neckline, 3-quarter length sleeves, a dramatic train (to which flared from her waist) and an elegant front slit. Overlaid with sheer and plenty of sparkly embellishments; SJP looked stunning and certainly dazzled the crowds in her Zuhair Murad original!

Christian-Louboutin-lipstick-collection-5

From fabulous footwear to swanky nail polish, Christian Louboutin will also launch a fancy lipstick range to add to his expanding beauty collection. Available in 38 shades, there will be plenty of choice. Including your timeless reds, seasonal brights, stand-out colour pops, your subtle under-tones and nudey hues; it seems you’ll be able to match your Loubou footwear with your Loubou lippy!

As well as a mixed colour pallet, the Louboutin lipsticks will also come in a mixture of 3 intensities. From colour intentse Velvet Matte to a much softer Sheer Voile, with a Satin Finish in between; theres a luxurious lipstick for every occasion!

Just like the Louboutin nail varnishes, the casing alone is glamorous enough to make you want it. And priced at £60 each, they are most definitely desirable pieces to add to your “It” beauty collection or if you’re like me; it will be enough to just have it (to look at). So get saving, because the Louboutin lipstick range will make its debut in September!!

Two-thirds through the week, the Big Apple has already seen some glamorous gowns take to the catwalk; some to which I can already envision on the the red carpet in the coming months.

After quite a few official awards ceremonies so far this year, several celebrities have been seen dressed head-to-toe in designer outfits on the red carpet; many to which started on this very runway. With both the Oscars and BAFTAs still to come, I wonder what other designer masterpieces will be spotted on the red carpet. Whether it is at the end of the week, within a couple of weeks or later into 2014, I guarantee at least one of these unique designs will make it from runway to red carpet.

Keeping it simple, both Carolina Herrera and Lela Rose stick to a single coloration, with vibrant colour-block gowns; both in a boob-tube cut and floor length design. Herrera embraces the red, whilst Rose joins the purple club. Continuing the purple theme, Dennis Basso combos his sparkley torso gown with a just as purple fur jacket. Whilst his choice of red knee high boots may not be seen on the red carpet with the outfit, the dress is definitely one to look out for.

Inspired by African designs, Mara Hoffman’s geometric patterned panel sets her sheer LBD apart from any other black gown on the  catwalk. Thus potentially fit for the red carpet. Looking very “black tie”, Venexiana’s A/W collection is consistently elegant. With a selection of floor length gowns; in different colours, textures and delicate detailing; Venexiana wowed the runway audience with hand sewn embellishments, laser cut patterns, velvet designs and textured sheers. All thats needed are some fashionable celebrities to rock these beauties down a red carpet and wow the rest of the world.

This is just a brief summary of some of my favourite and most intersting pics from last night’s 56th Grammy awards.

To start with; OMG. Have you seen Madonna’s son David? That cutie she adopted from Africa all those years ago. When did he get so big? Where has the time gone? Anyway, long-story short, he grew up. “Madonna and child”, looked quite adorable in their matching Ralph Lauren suits. As smart as he looked and as manly as she looked, I still can not believe how much he has grown up.

Having seen many bumps on the Golden Globes’ red carpet, the Grammys followed closely in fashion with yummy-mummy-to-be; Ciara-also looking radiant in a gold Pucci gown; as she showed off her baby bump on the red carpet.

Also like the Golden Globes, the Grammys saw a lot of red on the red carpet; with Tamar Braxton and Pink pulling it off the best (in my opinion anyway). Seen separately, the pair looked stunning in their sexy red number. But if I had to chose, I’d definitely say that Tamar wore it better. If anyone can make red on the red carpet work, its her (so far, in 2014 anyway).

Last but certainly not least; Katy Perry. Keeping it strictly music based, she looked pretty unique in her whimsical, fairy-godmother-type dress by Valentino. As interesting as it was, she did look amazing and very fit for the theme.

So it’s been a year! A whole Three Hundred and Sixty-Five days. Hip-Hip-Hooray!

A year ago today The F Word made its debut into the world; The World Wide Web, and since then quite a bit has changed. Not only has The F word had a facelift and reimage, but I myself have experienced some changes and moved on. The last year has been an eventful one; so eventful that The F Word captured, documented and hash-tagged every last detail.

Not long after my 21st birthday and having bought my first pair of Louboutins, I started this blog. Since then, The F word has seen chaos during Boxing Day sales, the bargain buys and a trip to Brick Lane all before ending the year with a bang. Leaving 2012 behind and strutting into 2013, The F word also saw the Marc Jacobs obsession blossom, Mr. Selfridge build his luxury empire, insight into Victoria’s Secret, Beyoncé’s world tour, 2 new fabulous watches, Marc Jacobs become the creative director for Diet Coke, along with multiple Marc goodies, plenty of other gorgeous designer wear, a rare dessert party, graduation, several interesting art/fashion exhibitions, trips to the Big Apple, Thailand and Malaysia and lets not forget the ooh so glamorous; New York Fashion Week and LFW.

As the 14th November marks The F word’s first birthday, I look forward to yet another fun filled year; with lots of glitz&glam, fashion, art, travel, cake, more fashion and even more cake!

Here’s to another 365 fabulous days- #Watch this space!

As London Fashion Week approaches, NYFW draws to an end. After spending hours online; admiring, dreaming and adding to my wish list; I have chosen a few of my favourites from the runway!

With the colour orange being a summer favourite of mine, I am happy to announce that the ooh so bright and vibrant tone remains in the colour pallet for Spring Summer 2014. And I can not wait. For me, Monique Ihuiller does this best; with her crop top and maxi skirt combinations, plus I am absolutely loving the orange and pink combo that completes the collection.

Looking very Carrie Bradshaw, another personal favourite is Delpozo . He is definitely doing it for me this season (SS14), with all those fabulous gowns; also taking the form a crop top+skirt kind-of-dress. AAA-MAZING!

Noon by Noor SS14 is going for the casual glam look; with pencil skirts, jump suits and maxi dresses. Not my kind of casual; because lets face it, you need money and status to dress like that and for it to still be considered some what casual; yet still glamourous enough to step on to the red carpet.

Alexander Wang is also going for “casual” this time down the runway. He also keeps it relatively mono chrome with his ‘Parental Advisory’ theme. Different. Nonetheless I love it.

Naeem Khan has also left a lasting impression on me this year, with what I can only describe as a 3-piece; red and white patterned ensemble. This specific outfit that took the runway, features a bando, high-waisted shorts and a matching robe-like-kimono-type “over coat”. Despite my lack of real words for his design, Khan’s simple, unique and sexy, yet some what classy ensemble is a definite favourite. I will certainly be looking out for the high street equivalent.

Leaving summer behind, and as we are forced into coats, jackets, hats and scarfs; I am just counting down the days until  winter is over. Bring on SS14!

FIT, NYC

FIT, NYC

On a recent trip to the Big Apple, I realised how much I love that city and now all i want to do is go back. If not for the shopping, fabulous fashion and glamorous lifestyle then take me back to the buzz in Time Square, Brooklyn’s finest restaurants, the unique finds of Soho, and the city’s character through, art and culture! This trip also hit a harsh reality; discovering all the Beautiful bags and shoes I yearn for but can not afford YET! Admittedly watching the ‘Sex and the City’ box set is not helping, nor is the constant flicking through my photos; But hey, whats a girl to do, but dream?

Anyways here is a well overdue, overview of Seventh Ave’s “Shoe Obsession” exhibition at New York City’s Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). If I can’t have fabulous footwear (Minus my Louboutins), then I’ll just look!

So we were not exactly allowed to take photos, but i got a couple of sneaky pics 🙂

“Shoe Obsession is not a new phenomenon. But over the past decade, extraordinary designer shoes with extremely high heels have become increasingly central to fashion. Why are we so obsessed with shoes? and why are shoes so important now?”

So over the Christmas/ New years holiday, I went to the “Ball Gowns, British Glamour since 1950s” Exhibition at the V&A, but have not had time to upload anything until now due to the exams that took over my life.

“From debutantes and royalty to charity balls and red carpets, this exhibition highlighted the styles, silhouettes and colours that have been perennial favourites for many years…

No matter the fashion season, occasion or the time of year you can not go wrong with a classic LBD. Thus, in the wise words of Karl Lagerfeld “One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress.”

So as 2012 came to an end and we entered 2013, i slipped my Louboutins on, for the second time and kept it simple in my LBD, yet with just enough sparkle, fit for the occasion, in Zara’s finest.

on the other hand…
