To all thoes who are still laying in bed, ahead of a lazy bank holiday Monday; enjoy! And to those [like me], who unfortunatley still have to attend work today because a “bank holiday” means very little to you; here is some motivation for your Monday morning!

…I love, love, love, this Chanel quilted lambskin backpack in classic black. These days I’ve been obsessed with backpacks and this Chanel checks all the boxes. Granted, it is a little on the large side, but I’m not complaining- I mean how can you not love it?!

The perfect combination of streetwear and high fashion, this is not your average drawstring bag; this is where sportswear meets fashion and I cannot get enough!

The lambskin leather backpack is designed in reflection of your traditional drawstring bag, featuring a quilted leather flap, finished with Chanel’s signature CC closure clasp and classic gold chain straps. There are also two open pockets on the back and the inside is lined with black fabric! I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again; how can you not love it?

My favourite art gallery; The Saatchi and one of my favourite fashion house’s; Chanel, have come together to create greatness. The Saatchi’s latest exhibition explores the evolution of France’s leading lady and fashion extraordinaire; Coco Chanel, through “Mademoiselle Privé”. Taking up the entire gallery, the popular exhibit goes across 3 and features the original Chanel boutique, workshop replicas, art, inspiration, materials/fabrics, Chanel originals and many more…

“Mademoiselle Privé, a journey through the origins of Chanel’s creations, capturing the charismatic personality and irreverent spirt of Mademoiselle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.

This autumn, Karl Lagerfeld and CHANEL will present an enchanted journey through the House’s creativity. The “Mademoiselle Privé” exhibition will highlight the Haute Couture, the re-editions of the High Jewellery “Bijoux de Diamants” collection created in 1932 and CHANEL N°5. Opening the doors to reveal a dazzling experience and immersion into the origins of CHANEL’s creations, “Mademoiselle Privé” will capture the charismatic personality and irreverent spirit of Mademoiselle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.

Installed on all three floors of the Gallery, the enticing adventure will bring to mind the House’s essential elements: audacity, freedom and innovation whether it is the history of Gabrielle Chanel’s inspirations or Karl Lagerfeld’s inimitable take on CHANEL’s codes, symbols and icons.”-[Saatchi Gallery]

Below are some of my favourite pieces from the exhibition.

The play on slot machines, that featured Chanel’s infamous double Cs was quite fascinating. I liked the combination of High Fashion and a spot of Happy-Go-Lucky regular gambling; that took on an artistic approach. Also, the Haute Couture room was one that stood out most for me. The dark room that displayed delicate dresses; maintaining a tradition and attention to detail; against bright light rods was amazing. Described as …The ultimate union between craftsmanship and innovation… – I could not agree more! Finally, I really admired the front (door) of Chanel’s original boutique. It was simple and somewhat elegant; thus visually impactive, especially given how large the instillation was and the fact it was against a plain white wall.

Naturally, anything Chanel is high in demand, and together with one of London’s best art galleries [plus it was free], demand was certainly high. Visiting on a busy Wednesday evening, the queue was rather long and somewhat deceiving, but definitely worth the wait!

Here are some more snippets from Mademoiselle Privé @ The Saatchi.

I know I haven’t posted anything Chanel related in a while, so this is certainly well overdue, yet I still do not know what to say. I quite literally am speechless. Truth be told, all I want to do is put up a row (or five) of the smiley faces with the red love heart eyes, since I’m pretty sure that’s what my eyes did-still doing in fact. This Chanel Boy bag is B-E-A-UTIFUL! There’s nothing else to it, it’s perfect. There’s no “I like it, but…” Or ” yeah, if…” to it, it just is. I like everything about it; the colour, size, style, detailing, material, even the box it comes in; I love it.

If perfection was a handbag, this finely crafted Chanel black leather Boy bag, would definitely be it. I can not fault Mr. Lagerfeld at all. For me, It’s the brocade style detailing that I adore the most; it gives the bag so much more depth, making it more visually appealing and unique. Why go for the traditional plain black or quilted classic in the Boy, when you can have this? The raised brocade texture without a doubt completes this luxury fashion accessory; representing Chanel at its finest!

So, this came up in a conversation about Balenciaga. Just look at it. It is B-e-a-utiful!

Since Alexander Wang joined the French fashion house, he has definetly moved mountains for me and most certainly put his stamp on it (Balenciaga that is). From your trade mark ‘Motorcycle’ and ‘City’ Balenciaga bags, I was never too much of a fan. But now 6 months down the line; after Alexander Wang was appointed creative director of the brand; I can honestly say I would buy one. Maybe not now, but in general; its on the list! The ‘Classic Metallic edge Mini Leather Tote’ comes in a few colours, with the burgundy being my favourite and in the ‘City’- you can’t go wrong with the classic black!
