ICB

ICB

Amongst those trending across the runway at New York Fashion Week is the pencil cut skirt with a split. Remaining at a respectable hight, the split works. Going for the chic casual look, AW15/16 ready-to-wear is defiantly something I can get on board with. Naturally, I love the orange skirt by ICB (guilty); not only because obviously its orange but the off-centre split is much more appealing, plus the mini skirt under layer, come-lining adds a certain depth to the skirt as a whole. Worn by the model quite casually, the structured skirt can also be dressed up with a change in top, shoes and accessories. #Love

Tibi and CC Chris Gelinas also went with the more casual look compare to both Altuzarra and Brandon Sun who went for slightly dressier alternatives. For me, Tibi’s cream/nude emsemble was a close second contender after ICB. Pairing the off-white leather skirt with a cream wooly jumper is definitely a look I can’t wait to see hit the streets come AW 15/16. The thick collar that borders on ‘polo neck’ is what stands out most for me. The Gelinas skirt in light khaki is also favourable. Its a slightly less fitted cut compare to the others nevertheless, it works. Personally, I wouldn’t have paired it with those socks or shoes and perhaps a cream blouse instead; but simply as a pencil skirt with a split; I like it. The latter however, I can not say the same for.  To me, the styling behind both the Brandon Sun and Altuzarra designs could have been executed better.

Yes, he’s done it again. Keeping it fairly simple yet a casual elegance, Marc Jacobs presents a rather silky, shiny and sparkly collection for Spring Summer 2014. Admittedly, some of his designs that feature excessive amounts of satin and silk do resemble pyjama bottoms; nevertheless It works and I like it.

Along with the silky trouser suit, Jacobs goes for the 118 look with a red and white sporty shorts and jacket ensemble. Continuing the all-in-one trend, Marc Jacobs also has a few jump suits in his SS14 collection; some that follow his silk/satin theme and others that lead with sparkle, glitz and glam. Of course the fabulous collection was not complete without a classy knee-length long-sleeve dress; bringing a touch of mono chrome to the catwalk.

Although it is not usually my cup of tea, partly due to the pyjama “look” but also for the simple fact that I can not sit in silk; without either naturally sliding about the place or at least having the urge to; it is growing on me. Its interesting and I’m intrigued to see it worn off of the runway and more to the point it is MARC JACOBS!!!

This is the point where i admit to my obsession and confess to my addiction. To be honest I can’t pin point what it is about Marc Jacobs but all i know is i love him and I am hopelessly obsessed with his simple yet elegant, fashionable and unique designs.

With Marc Jacobs on my “New York Shopping List” and having recently fallen in love with his new watch collection, I knew i had to come back with one. And like i said before, There is just something about the mini orange leather strapped, small faced watch that i love. These days i have a “thing” for orange, so I just knew this was the one!

Whilst the Dollar rate to the pound may not have been great, at 1.5 it was the best i was gonna get. Plus with Macy’s 10% off visitor’s card, who was i to complain.

Nikey Dunk Sky HI: NY

Nikey Dunk Sky HI: NY

For someone like me who has never really been a trainer lover, but more of a pretty shoes- “loubis type” junkie, I love Nike Blazers and these lady-like “Nikeys”. These limited edition Nike Dunk Sky Highs represent the four FASHION capitals of the world; London, Paris, New York and Milan and are part of the “city pack” collection. Found in the glamorous-est of them all; New York City, in Soho’s Nike store; Im not keen on them all but nevertheless I was eager to snapped them up!
