As summer approaches, so does the urgent desire to have that “bikini bod” and the need to look “summer-time-fine”; so I am sure I’m not the only one who is eating healthier, detoxing and exercising more with the promise of feeling good!

Although I am yet to start (maybe) the completely green detox juices/smoothies, I have jumped on the green drink bandwagon- I’m just mixing it slightly more and cutting out the kale! I know, I know, its a superfood and all and probably one of the most vital ingredients but I can’t- It’s just tastes awful. I’ll stick to the spinach and banana for now thanks! #GoingGreen

Currently in love with everything Zuhair Murad. His style and attention to detail is just exquisite and I can not get enough of it. Murad’s unique designs, together with the carefully selected material used, are beyond b-e-a-utiful!

For me, its the delicateness that he brings to each design as well as the “2 piece” look (often a floor length, sensual figure hugging dress, accompanied by an optional/ removable Cinderella-like skirt, train or cape; phsyically adding visual depth to each garment and in turn; creating absolute perfection). Where a gown can look sexy and sophisticated; I’m all for it and Zuhair Murad has a way of doing this like no one else! His collections have a consistent trend and continuity; with a majority of his peices having a sheer finish, very femine structures, hemlines and necklines, hand embroidered overlays in sequin, floral, brocade..etc, as well as a core sense of glitz and glam meets elegant.

His designs are unique enough for the catwalk (season after season), jaw-dropping and beautiful enough for walking down the aisle and certainly glamorous enough for the red carpet. From Bridal collections and Ready-to-wear, to Resort and Couture; Murad is faultless. Absolutley aaa-mazing!

Watch this space, there is definetly more Zuhair Murad to come!

I’m sure I can speak for most women when i say; Bags (& Shoes). Yes thats it. There isn’t anymore to say, simply because there is too much to say. However as the Fashion Week season is upon us and NYFW draws to an end, I can say an extra few words (well, two more) to highlight one of my favourite designs of the week; Mansur Gavriel!

The bucket bags are back and I can not get enough of them. Designers, Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel have made everybody and their friends want one of their amazing bags. The New York based brand was founded by these two ladies in April 2012 and now almost three years on, the Italian crafted bags have well and truly entered the fashion world. With growing attention and exposure, the brand is flourishing nicely. Whilst AW15 will see two new styles (along side the existing collection that includes; totes, backpacks and bucket bags) as well as new colours, for me its all the bucket bag. The design is simple and the structure that reflects the shape of a bucket adds a certain depth to the bag. The fact each bag is colour blocked also contributes to the luxury aspect of the street-style kind of bag. Naturally and like most, you can not go wrong with classic black, however I also really like the brandy colour and next season’s sand one too. So watch this space! #WishList

photo 2 copy 2 Next March the V&A museum will be showcasing a World McQueen exhibition. Like so many out there, I couldn’t be more excited.

For 4 months, the exhibit will be Europe’s first and largest retrospective of McQueens work. From his MA graduate collection, to his unfinished AW collection in 2010 (-including his work as chief designer at Givenchy); the showcase will represent the late British designer’s originality and creative flare. With plenty of sparkle, extravagant designs and unique structures; the exhibition is going to be one to remember.

The above piece, is a dress made entirely from Swarovski crystals-how exciting!

Bring on March 2015!

As London Fashion Week approaches, NYFW draws to an end. After spending hours online; admiring, dreaming and adding to my wish list; I have chosen a few of my favourites from the runway!

With the colour orange being a summer favourite of mine, I am happy to announce that the ooh so bright and vibrant tone remains in the colour pallet for Spring Summer 2014. And I can not wait. For me, Monique Ihuiller does this best; with her crop top and maxi skirt combinations, plus I am absolutely loving the orange and pink combo that completes the collection.

Looking very Carrie Bradshaw, another personal favourite is Delpozo . He is definitely doing it for me this season (SS14), with all those fabulous gowns; also taking the form a crop top+skirt kind-of-dress. AAA-MAZING!

Noon by Noor SS14 is going for the casual glam look; with pencil skirts, jump suits and maxi dresses. Not my kind of casual; because lets face it, you need money and status to dress like that and for it to still be considered some what casual; yet still glamourous enough to step on to the red carpet.

Alexander Wang is also going for “casual” this time down the runway. He also keeps it relatively mono chrome with his ‘Parental Advisory’ theme. Different. Nonetheless I love it.

Naeem Khan has also left a lasting impression on me this year, with what I can only describe as a 3-piece; red and white patterned ensemble. This specific outfit that took the runway, features a bando, high-waisted shorts and a matching robe-like-kimono-type “over coat”. Despite my lack of real words for his design, Khan’s simple, unique and sexy, yet some what classy ensemble is a definite favourite. I will certainly be looking out for the high street equivalent.

Leaving summer behind, and as we are forced into coats, jackets, hats and scarfs; I am just counting down the days until  winter is over. Bring on SS14!

MarcJacobsMakeup

After weeks of waiting, it is final here; Marc By Marc Jacobs first beauty collection.  With an amazing clothing collections, magnificent bags, adorable purses and pretty shoes; season after season Marc Jacobs delivers; so it was only a matter of time before he joined YSL, Dior and Chanel on the make-up counter. For years Marc By Marc Jacobs has designed make-up bags and now its time to fill those bags. From mascara, to lip gloss, foundation, eye shadow and lip stick; as of today, consider that make-up bag full.
