Three days into the new year; hang overs should be gone, regrets of 2013 should be out of your system and resolutions for the coming year should be put in place. Although the holiday season is pretty much over, this picture summed up New Years and the start of an exciting journey that is 2014! And hey, its almost the weekend. Happy Friday!
As 2013 draws to an end and everyone looks back on the year; reminiscing and dwelling on could haves, would haves and should haves; I have reflected on the year in fashion. From fabulous handbags to the latest trends, new store openings and celebrity clothing lines, I have put together some memorable fashion highlights from over the last 365 days.
Starting with my favourite, my inspirations, my main man; Marc Jacobs.
Marc Jacobs leaves Louis Vuitton
After 16 spectacular years as Louis Vuitton’s creative director, Marc Jacobs announced that he would be leaving the French fashion house to focus on his own brands. Since joining Louis Vuitton in 1997, Marc Jacobs transformed the luggage brand and created something sensational. The announcement came at the end of Paris Fashion week, where Jacobs truly put on a show for his last collection with LV; making a memorable exit.
Orange is the new black
With a summer of bright and vibrant colours, orange was definitely a personal favourite. From a bright Celine bag and statement shoes to a pop of colour and a pretty summer dress, orange was very much “the new black”. Even as winter approached, the trend continued in beanie hats, Kenzo jumpers and even a few fur coats.
Kate Moss poses for Playboy
As Kate Moss approaches 40, she proves to be younger than ever as she is shot nude for the cover of Playboy. To celebrate 60 years of the worlds favourite men’s magazine (and brand), the January/ February (2014) issue will feature Britain’s face of fashion. The Supermodel will also appear in a 18-page pictorial in the coming Anniversary double issue. So watch this space.
D&G are sent to prison
The fashion designer duo; Dolce and Gabbana were sentenced to jail for tax evasion. Although the pair were initially cleared on the charge in 2011, the case was opened again and the 2 were accused of hiding million (in euros) from the Italian tax authorities. As it stands Dolce and Gabbana have avoided life behind bars (until further notice) due to their suspended sentences, as a result of a pending appeal. Once again, watch this space.
From the catwalks of fashion week to the urban runway that is street fashion, 2013 has seen more and more matchy matchy outfits. Matching tops to bottoms, the trend is very classical yet extremely modern, with an alternative twist. Going for the boyish look, some of the trend involves the traditional blazer and trouser type of suit, where others are slightly more up to date and refreshing; matching crops to bottoms.
Heres to the end of 2013 and welcoming yet another year of fabulous memories, once -in-a-lifetime moments and plenty of glitz and glam! Let the countdown begin and bring on Two Thousand and Fourteen.
So it’s been a year! A whole Three Hundred and Sixty-Five days. Hip-Hip-Hooray!
A year ago today The F Word made its debut into the world; The World Wide Web, and since then quite a bit has changed. Not only has The F word had a facelift and reimage, but I myself have experienced some changes and moved on. The last year has been an eventful one; so eventful that The F Word captured, documented and hash-tagged every last detail.
Not long after my 21st birthday and having bought my first pair of Louboutins, I started this blog. Since then, The F word has seen chaos during Boxing Day sales, the bargain buys and a trip to Brick Lane all before ending the year with a bang. Leaving 2012 behind and strutting into 2013, The F word also saw the Marc Jacobs obsession blossom, Mr. Selfridge build his luxury empire, insight into Victoria’s Secret, Beyoncé’s world tour, 2 new fabulous watches, Marc Jacobs become the creative director for Diet Coke, along with multiple Marc goodies, plenty of other gorgeous designer wear, a rare dessert party, graduation, several interesting art/fashion exhibitions, trips to the Big Apple, Thailand and Malaysia and lets not forget the ooh so glamorous; New York Fashion Week and LFW.
As the 14th November marks The F word’s first birthday, I look forward to yet another fun filled year; with lots of glitz&glam, fashion, art, travel, cake, more fashion and even more cake!
Here’s to another 365 fabulous days- #Watch this space!
Its been a while…but I’m back…
After all my travels and adventures across the globe in Thailand (plus a cheeky 3 days in Malaysia), I am back. Back home to the UK and now (as of yesterday) having graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class degree, I am actually home. back in London. For good! (well until next time!)
So its back on. Back to exploring and being a tourist in my own city. Last summer brought the Olympics, sporty fashion, arty mascotts around London, thousands of tourists and their individual dress sense and lets not forget; my favourite; all those funky charity telephone boxes-also plotted around the capital.
Already the weather seems to be better than last “summer”, so lets pray it stays and brings a lot more fashion, craziness and fun. Bring on Summer 2013 I say!
Whilst Thailand proved to have its ups and downs it was without a doubt Aaaa-mazzzing!
So watch this space for more “f word” posts and finally back to my regualr updates!
These days i am really feeling the colour orange. Its definitely my summer shade and it is going to be more than just a pop of colour in the coming months. Well that is if we get a summer.
With that said and with one day until June, the sun finally decides to grace us with its presence. Lets just hope it stays this time and lasts more than 48 hours because it is time to get summer time fine!
Its that time again…Marc Jacobs time…ooh yhh!
Having being caught up in uni work and needing to save for the next chapter in my life; Traveling, I have tried not to spend so much money. For me the only way to do that, is by not looking. But now that I have finished my degree and I am free as a bird, I have too much time to just look. So I think its about time i made a new purchase. These new Marc’s are adorable, stylish and perfect for summer. As with all things Marc Jacob’s, I love them. Although I can’t quite decide on what colour yet, I do know that one of my next pay days, its on!
So Yesterday I FINALLY booked my summer holiday to Thailand. And i Can not wait. It was a well over due "thing" on my never ending "to do" list. But now its done, all i can do is count down the weeks. Despite this miserable weather that is so "Typical British" I can't help but look at all the summer goodies and skimpy little clothes for my South East Asia travels. Whilst I have been told (by many) that i have a "Problem", I am still overly obsessed with Marc Jacobs. I have come to the realisation that my black 'Natasha' MJ handbag will not suffice for the treks, day trips and wild nights out that Thailand has to offer. So when i came across this mint green Marc by Marc Jacobs tote, i knew it was the one (There goes another item on my wish list) . Tote-ally perfect for a beach bag don't you think?! #EXCITED
Its time to start taking a liking to pink, saving for that perfect matching set and taking under ware seriously, because Victoria’s Secret is coming to Manchester. Where 2 separate stores once were, the world’s sexiest brand is knocking through walls and taking over; as the angels open the North’s very first Victoria Secrets in the Trafford centre.
what better way to start my pretty plates of food posts than with dessert? mmmm

Tell me she isn’t HOT STUFF. Did anyone watch the super bowl last night or at least the highlights? Well to those who didn’t catch the beauty that is Beyonce, strutting her stuff in New Orleans, she has FINALLY announced her Mrs Carter tour and I can not wait.
