Shoe Obsession Exhibiton, NYC
On a recent trip to the Big Apple, I realised how much I love that city and now all i want to do is go back. If not for the shopping, fabulous fashion and glamorous lifestyle then take me back to the buzz in Time Square, Brooklyn’s finest restaurants, the unique finds of Soho, and the city’s character through, art and culture! This trip also hit a harsh reality; discovering all the Beautiful bags and shoes I yearn for but can not afford YET! Admittedly watching the ‘Sex and the City’ box set is not helping, nor is the constant flicking through my photos; But hey, whats a girl to do, but dream?
Anyways here is a well overdue, overview of Seventh Ave’s “Shoe Obsession” exhibition at New York City’s Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). If I can’t have fabulous footwear (Minus my Louboutins), then I’ll just look!
So we were not exactly allowed to take photos, but i got a couple of sneaky pics 🙂
“Shoe Obsession is not a new phenomenon. But over the past decade, extraordinary designer shoes with extremely high heels have become increasingly central to fashion. Why are we so obsessed with shoes? and why are shoes so important now?”
